Morgan is shown running on a treadmill with his wife, Annie, in the background, indicating his reputation for running around the city and getting personally involved in many aspects of "running" the city. First elected in 1989, Morgan left the office of mayor during his second term in 1994 to return to private business. Today he heads up his own real estate company. He was elected a Nebraska state senator for one term in 1970 and served as a Douglas County Commissioner 1973-1977. He was Omaha Airport Authority chairman 1982-1989, during the airport's building project. On the Chamber of Commerce board for over 10 years, Morgan has led numerous community service efforts.
