Name: Mayor Mike Boyle
Mike Boyle was Omaha's mayor from 1981 to 1987. The police officers shown in the caricature represent the famous and long-running feud that the mayor had with the police department. The conflict was partly responsible for his removal from office before the end of his second term as mayor. The bucking bronco represents the department's mounted patrol. Boyle was first elected a Douglas County Commissioner in 1998 and still serves. He is also an attorney in private practice. His wife, Anne, represents District 2 on the Nebraska Public Service Commission, elected in 1996. The couple attended Saint Cecilia grade school and Cathedral High School together. He attended a seminary before they married. Boyle graduated from Creighton Law School in 1977 at age 34. Not many people know that Mike Boyle's real first name is David. Back to Top
