Name: State Senator Richard Proud
One irate lady yelled, "Walk on it," as the Face of State Senator Richard Proud was unveiled. Proud was considered by some an anti-feminist for his legislation on women's issues. At the time, he was Speaker of the Nebraska Legislature. His reputation inspired the artist to show the senator as posing for a Playgirl magazine, lying nude on a bear skin rug. In the Face drawing, Proud is reading Ms magazine as a braless and irate feminist holds a protest sign in the background. Proud worked for Mutual of Omaha.
