Do you know a journalist who should be in the Omaha Press Club "Journalists of Excellence Hall of Fame"? The person can be living or deceased, working or retired. Send the person's name along with a brief description of why they should be in the Hall of Fame to: Omaha Press Club, Att.: OPC Hall of Fame Committee, 1620 Dodge St., 22nd Floor, Omaha, NE 68102. Send by March 15. This is the first year, so we need as many names as you care to submit. One living honoree and one honoree who has died since 1995 will be inducted on May 29. In addition, we are compiling a list of posthumous honorees, who will honored all at once, who died before 1995.
The OPC's next noon forum is scheduled for Feb. 21 at noon at the club. The topic for this event will focus on Hereditary Cancer Prone Disorders, and will feature Dr. Henry T. Lynch. Call 345-8008 for more information or reservations.
The OPC will temporarily relocate to Joslyn Castle from April 1-July 31 to accommodate renovations to the club. While the club is undergoing a makeover, members can still enjoy club benefits, including great food, great events, and even summertime discounts from partnering restaurants. The OPC will re-open to the public Sept. 1. Call 345-8008 for more information.
