Name: Dana Altman
A record crowd of more than 200 people turned out to roast and toast Creighton University's winningest basketball coach, Dana Altman. Dana had made headlines when he led the Creighton Bluejays men's basketball team to a school-record 29-win season. Later he was rumored to be a top contender for several big-name coaching jobs around the nation. Those attending were celebrating Altman's decision to stay in Omaha, where he had coached since 1994. He compiled a 175-100 record in nine seasons for the Bluejays and led Creighton to six straight postseason tournaments, including five NCAA berths. Altman was Missouri Valley Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2003 and in 1992 his team posted a school-record 29 victories and its fourth Missouri Valley tournament title in five years. The Face showed Altman with "Bluejay Blue" eyes. His tie is made up of small "Cs" for Creighton. With him are Creighton players warming up for the game, along with the Creighton Bluejay. A big crowd of fans and Jaybackers are in the background. Also shown is a Kolache salesman, a reference to Dana's hometown of Wilbur, Neb., the Czech capital of Nebraska, also known as the "Kolache Center of the Midwest."
