Name: Judge John G. Bookout
With a career that included a stint as a judge in the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals, John Bookout is best known as national president and CEO of Woodmen of the World/Omaha Woodmen Life Insurance Society, a position he assumed in 1985 after having served as vice president and general counsel of Omaha Woodmen of the World. The insurance executive was honored as a Face for his community service, for which he has received many awards. Bookout has served on many boards, including as advisory director for U.S. Bank and as member and former chairman of Nebraska Methodist Hospital board of trustees. His role as King of Ak-Sar-Ben, 1993-1994, is depicted. Also in the drawing is the Woodman Tower. The former judge holds a gavel. He died in September 2003.  Back to Top
