President's Message
Executive Director's Welcome
Welcome to the new and improved online home for the Omaha Press Club! As your 2010 president, I am honored to work with such a dedicated, passionate and creative board of directors, committee members, our tireless restaurant staff and those who simply love the atmosphere and camaraderie that the Omaha Press Club provides.
With the help of our board and committees, we strive to increase use of the club by members of the local media – especially those under-40 employees who spend their days at the city’s newspapers, news-based websites, and television and radio stations. Membership from these groups is ideal and an ultimate goal, but club patronage and awareness is a great place to start.
One way we attract media interest is through the Omaha Press Club Show. Dubbed as Omaha’s funniest fundraiser, the event always attracts attention, causes more than a few chuckles, raises more than a few eyebrows and raises dollars for our important scholarship fund. The show is certainly a highlight of each year, but let’s not forget our Face on the Barroom Floor events, Noon Forums, Winemaker’s Dinners, scholarship dinner, Hall of Fame inductions, and Excellence in Journalism awards ceremony. The list, quite frankly, goes on and on.
